I. Forum Introduction
The 1st "Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macau" Greater Bay Area AI for Science Doctoral Forum will be held in Shenzhen on October 25, 2024. With the theme of "AI for Science", this forum will adopt forms such as expert reports, sub-forums, and poster exchanges to discuss the academic frontier of AI for Science, share the latest research results, and prospect future development trends.
In recent years, artificial intelligence technology has developed rapidly and has become an important driving force for promoting scientific and technological progress and industrial transformation. AI for Science (AI4S) deeply integrates artificial intelligence with the first principles of science, solving many complex scientific problems and achieving a series of remarkable results such as AlphaFold's accurate prediction of protein structures. It has developed into a new paradigm for scientific research. As a pioneer and advocate of AI for Science, Peking University has been committed to the research and promotion of AI for Science. This year, the Shenzhen Graduate School took the lead in applying for the addition of the AI for Science discipline, established the AI for Science interdisciplinary research project, and piloted the exploration of the "AI + Science" dual 导师 graduate training model, achieving positive results.
To provide a platform for academic exchange and self-presentation for young students, Peking University Shenzhen Graduate School specially hosts the 1st "Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macau" Greater Bay Area AI for Science Doctoral Academic Forum. This forum includes plenary reports (academicians and experts such as Weinan E and Zongben Xu are invited) and 3 sub-forums on AI for Materials, AI for Biology, and AI for Informatics.
Doctoral students from universities and research institutions in the "Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macau" Greater Bay Area are warmly welcome to submit their works!
