Personal Profile

Wenchang Tan is a Boya Distinguished Professor, Doctoral Supervisor at Peking University, recipient of the National Outstanding Youth Fund, Changjiang Scholar Distinguished Professor of the Ministry of Education, Principal Investigator of the Key Research and Development Program of the Ministry of Science and Technology, and an Elsevier China Highly Cited Researcher. He has been honored with important titles such as JSPS Special Research Fellow of Japan and Top 2% Global Scientists. He serves as a Council Member of the 8th Council of the Chinese Society of Theoretical and Applied Mechanics; a Member of the 5th, 6th, 7th, and 8th National Committee on Biomechanics, a Member of the Fluid Mechanics Committee of the Chinese Society of Theoretical and Applied Mechanics, and the Leader of the 9th National Research Group on Multiphase Flow and Non-Newtonian Flow; and a Member of the Biomechanics and Biorheology Committee of the Chinese Society of Biophysics. He is an editorial board member of journals includingApplied Mathematics and Mechanics,WSEAS Transaction on Fluid Mechanics,WSEAS Transactions on Applied and Theoretical Mechanics,Acta Mechanica Sinica,Beijing Biomedical Engineering,Journal of Medical Biomechanics, andJournal of Biomedical Engineering Research. He has published over 120 SCI papers, which have been cited more than 5,000 times.
