Research Fields

Natural product exists in an infinite range of complexity and diversity, and often presents dazzling biological activities. The total synthesis of complex natural product involves distinct synthetic problems which challenge synthetic chemist ingenuity and skill, and require unique strategies and tactics for their solution. The research program in our group aimed at the development of novel synthetic methodologies and synthetic strategies, and applied them to the syntheses of complex natural products, which is considered highly valuable, attractive, and rewarding, particularly to those who enjoy challenge and wish to acquire the awesome power of creating new chemical entities, and the generated natural product-likes compounds may be valuable for the treatment of diseases and utilized as probes to regulate the importantly biological targets. Currently, we have built up a platform featuring (a) new synthetic methodology program, (b) synthesis program and (c) chemical genetic program.
